English Accent Coach is designed from the ground up to be a fully offline, privacy-first app. We believe your voice and learning data belong to you alone.

The Short Version

We don't collect your voice recordings. We don't have accounts or sync your progress to any server. We don't collect usage data or device information. Everything stays on your device.

What We Don't Collect

Voice Recordings

All speech analysis happens entirely on your device using on-device AI. Your voice recordings never leave your phone and are not uploaded to any server. After analysis, recordings are immediately discarded from memory.

Account Information

English Accent Coach has no accounts, no sign-up, and no login. We don't collect email addresses, names, or any identity information. You are completely anonymous to us.

Usage Data

We do not track how you use the app. Your lessons completed, practice sessions, and progress metrics are stored only on your device and are never sent to us.

Device Information

We do not collect device type, operating system version, or any other device information.

Crash Reports

We do not use crash reporting services. If the app crashes, no data is sent anywhere.

Your Data Lives On Your Device

All your progress, settings, and learning history are stored locally on your device. Because we have no servers or accounts:

  • Your data does not sync between devices automatically
  • If you delete the app, your progress is lost unless you export it first
  • Use the Export/Import feature in Settings to back up your data or transfer it to another device

The One Exception: Voluntary Feedback

If you choose to report a pronunciation evaluation issue using the "Report Inaccuracy" feature, you have the option to include your audio recording with the report. This is entirely voluntary.

When you submit feedback with audio:

  • The audio recording and evaluation data are sent to us
  • We use this data to improve our pronunciation models
  • We do not have any way to identify you from this data (no account, no device ID)
  • We retain submitted audio indefinitely to improve the app

You can report issues without including audio if you prefer.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change our privacy practices, we will update this page. Our commitment to offline-first, privacy-respecting design is core to English Accent Coach.
